Is the canvas really water-resistant enough for a proper downpour? Or just like, light drizzle?

I've used my Canvas Rucksack in some pretty heavy rain and my stuff stayed dry. It's not like fully waterproof submergible, but definitely good for a downpour.

It's water-repellent, not fully waterproof. They treat the canvas but it's not a dry bag. For normal rain, you're golden. If you're going kayaking, probably not.
